Description

A delicious stir-fry featuring thinly sliced sirloin steak and colorful bell peppers.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the sirloin steak against the grain.
  2. Chop the bell peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces and mince the garlic.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the steak for about 3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and sauté bell peppers and onion for about 5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Return the steak to the skillet, pour in soy sauce and beef broth, then bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Stir in the cornstarch mixture until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
