Description
A simple and delicious recipe for garlic butter noodles that can be made in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz egg noodles or spaghetti
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 cup reserved pasta water (optional)
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Optional: chili flakes, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to the package instructions until just al dente. Drain the noodles, reserving about 1/4 cup of pasta water, and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and golden, making sure not to burn the garlic to avoid bitterness.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss gently to coat them evenly with the garlic butter sauce. Pour in the soy sauce and add a splash of the reserved pasta water to create a silky texture, tossing until fully combined.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Toss once more to blend. Sprinkle the chopped green onions and optional chili flakes on top before serving.
Notes
- Ensure not to burn the garlic to avoid bitterness.
- Chili flakes can be added for extra spice.
