- 12 tablespoons butter
- 1 ½ cups chopped celery
- 1 ½ cups chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 10 cups day-old bread, torn
- 1 ½ cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 large eggs, beaten
Instructions
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped celery and onion, sauté until soft and fragrant (8–10 minutes).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine torn bread, poultry seasoning, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in sautéed vegetables and butter. Gently toss to coat the bread evenly.
- Add beaten eggs and slowly drizzle in broth, stirring until mixture is moist but not soggy.
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Roll mixture into balls about the size of a small apple.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and crisp on the outside.
- Serve warm or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- These bread balls can be made ahead of time and frozen.
