This creamy orzo dish with ground beef is a quick and delicious one-pot meal perfect for weeknights.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta (dry)
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or deep pan, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Break it up with a spoon until fully cooked.
- Add the diced onion and garlic. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to develop flavor.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Add the dry orzo pasta and reduce heat. Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender.
- Stir in heavy cream and half of the Parmesan. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until creamy.
- Remove from heat and top with remaining Parmesan and fresh parsley. Serve hot.
