- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt

- 3½ cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pink gel food coloring
Instructions
- Step 1: Make the Dough Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix until smooth.
- Step 2: Add Dry Ingredients Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into dough until soft.
- Step 3: Chill the Dough Divide dough into discs, wrap, and chill for 1 hour.
- Step 4: Roll and Cut Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness. Cut heart shapes and place on lined baking sheets.
- Step 5: Bake Bake at 350°F for 9–11 minutes until edges are set. Cool completely.
- Step 6: Make the Frosting Beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until light and pipeable. Tint pink.
- Step 7: Decorate Pipe rose swirls onto cooled cookies using an open star tip.
